We get this question asked a lot so I though I would write a short post about this.

Sabys is named after one of the owners, Manual Manci’s, sister Sabina Manci. The Sabine hills are some of the oldest inhabited areas on the Italian peninsula, and the Sabine people were some of the earliest Romans. We drew from this inspiration for the name when creating our businesses in Rome, and we are delighted to open sabys.com for you and we hope that you enjoy spending some time at our store. To learn more about us please visit our “About Us“ section.

We hope, if you come to Rome, you will come say hello to us at one of our establishments, it would be a gran piacere to welcome you to the eternal city. And of course we hope that you might consider buying something wonderful for you and your family in our online store, but even more we hope you make room for the passion and taste of Italy in your life and live as Italians do: “live well, love much, laugh often”

Tante belle cose — “May you have many beautiful things”,

Our friend and advisor Howie Cheney who runs the search engine marketing firm RevClick sent us a link to this fun tag cloud tool called wordle. You enter the URL of a web site or a blog, and it scans all the content and generates a list of the most frequently appearing words, then displays them. Larger size words occur more frequently. Here’s the tag cloud for sabys.com.

We were pleased to see that items we know and love, like cold pressed olive oil, balsamic vinegar, parpadelle pasta and others all show up. A few of our top producers are also there, Leonardi (balsalmic vinegar), Rafaelli (olive oil), and La Collina Toscana (a variety of products from Tuscany).
